The intended audience for this book is parents (mostly mothers). This includes parents that want to form a relationship with their child, learn what their going child is going through, how to talk to them and how to approach them. The author attempts to persuade and connect with the the audience through the ending. She basically says that I have given you all the tools to handle your daughter and now it's up to you to implement them. If you choose to, it should help your relationship but, there's always a chance your child could need professional help. By saying this, she is trying to persuade you to use her methods first to try and prevent professional help. I would recommend this book to any parent or teen. I think it would diffently help the relationship. For parents, they can learn what their child is going through and how to help them through it. For teens, I personally think it's interesting to read about and it will give you a nested idea how to handle stuff on your own. It may be strange to read a parenting book but once you start it's hard to stop.

I love your work!
Overall, I enjoyed reading Queen Bees & Wannabes. It was fun reading about different situations and how parents should handle them, in order to get the best results. It was also interesting to learn about the troubles girls go through during middleschool. Three highlights from the book that I was able to connect with would be; cliques, gossiping and reputations. First of all, no matter what school or how old, there will always be cliques. After reading about the different roles played within a clique, I looked back on cliques in my life and tried to figure out who played each role. Putting a face to each role helped me to better understand and connect with what they had to gain and lose from playing that role. The section that talked about gossiping I believe, applies in everyone's life. It made me realize how big a role gossiping plays in everyone's life. Most conversations revolve around something we heard about someone and had to share with someone else. When your friends calls and says they have to tell you about so and so, have you told them to stop? I know I haven't. I connect with this because I can't imagine not gossiping to my best friend. Lastly, everyone has a reputation that they don't deserve and can't erase. Rumors spread through gossip and soon the entire school labels you with a reputation you can't shake. It's unfair to believe what you hear through a second hand source, but even if it's true maybe the girl made a mistake. She shouldn't hold this label for the rest of her life. It's easy to connect with this because I believe it happens to everyone and everyone has seen it happen in school. Possibly even watched it destroy a person's life.
